Martin January, is a Mining Professional with over seventeen (17) years of experience in the mining industry. He is a holder of a BSc Honours Degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Zimbabwe and a Masters in Business Administration at NUST. He has vast knowledge of the industry as he has worked both in the public and private sectors of the mining industry. He has experience in the Gold, Platinum, Asbestos, Limestone, Chrome and coal mining which he acquired in various roles in the industry (Blanket Mine, Renco Mine, Mimosa Mining Company, Gaths Mine, Lalapanzi Chrome project, Colleen Bawn, PPC Limestone Quarry, Umzobanzi Coal Mine (Witbank SA)). He understands all issues to deal with legal compliance as he worked at the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development. Martin is a member of various professional associations; Association of Mine Managers of Zimbabwe (AMMZ), Southern Africa Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM), Mine Ventilation Society of Zimbabwe (MVSZ), Zimbabwe National Institute of Rock Engineers (ZINIRE). Martin also sits on the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development Board of Examiners and is involved in examining for Full Blasting Licence and the Zimbabwe Government Certificate of Competencies and Diplomas. Currently, Martin is the Training and Operations Manager at the Zimbabwe School of Mines.
