“Breaking New Ground: ZSM Survey Department Takes Flight with Drone Licensing for Learning”
The Zimbabwe School of Mines Survey Department obtained licensing to operate drones for learning purposes. The remotely piloted aircraft systems operator certificate (ROC) is critical as the School shall operate the DJI Mavic 2 Pro Drone conducting:-
- Aerial Surveying and mapping
- Stockpile and pit volumetric analysis
- Precision agriculture,
- 3D Modelling and infrastructure inspections, and:-
- Drone surveillance and security.
The DJI Mavic 2 Pro Drone flies up to an 8km radius with a height of 120m above sea level.
