COURSE DESCRIPTION

After an ore body has been identified, mining development and production can begin. In these phases, waste rock and ore retrieval are the main components utilizing drill holes and explosives to break the ground for removal. The course complements theory with comprehensive instructions and hands-on experience using strategic mine planning software. Comparative analysis of different production scenarios, stockpiling, cutoff optimisation and their impacts on the bottom line of the mining business is illustrated. The courses run 10 days with practical training in mines over 4 of the 10 days.

CERTIFICATION

At the conclusion of this course, students will receive a Zimbabwe School of Mines certificate as testimony of their hard work and acquired skills gained during their learning experience.
