Challenging the way things are done in the mining industry, lives on today in our Metallurgy division, which offers Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy full-time and on block release both ND and HND level. We give students a global perspective on Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy with emphasis on Mineral Processing, pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy among many subjects. As you go through the three year program you will attain the top skills from our world class experts to turn you into a great Metallurgist

Higher National Diploma In Mineral Processing & Extractive Metallurgy

Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy is a domain for materials sciences and engineering that studies the physical and chemical behaviour of metallic elements, their intermetallic compounds, and their mixtures, which are called alloys. Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy is the technology of metals: the way in which science is applied to the production of metals, and the engineering of metal components for usage in products for consumers and manufacturers.Studying for the Higher National Diploma requires that you hold a Diploma in Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy or Equivalent. The course covers deeper managerial and engineering concepts that can aid the metallurgical technician in the field/profession.The subjects you may touch on include Operations Research and Management, Mineral Economics, and Engineering Mathematics among many courses.
Course duration : 1 Yr
Target Group : Mining and Non-Mining Personel
Level : Higher National Diploma

What can you do with your Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Diploma?

As a metallurgical engineer, you may find employment in metallurgical processing plants, engineering companies as a Metallurgical technicin. Metallurgical technicians work in support of metallurgical engineers, metallurgists, or materials scientists. These jobs involve the production, quality control, and experimental study of metals.
